Featuring
Seattle Peace Concerts'
free summer park concert series,
coordinated by Don Glenn since the early 80s,
features well established musicians and entertainers
as well as some of
the best Northwest's emerging artists.
Musical styles reflect the diverse contemporary music scene here in the pacific northwest and beyond! - Rock, Pop, Reggae, R&B, Blues, Zydeco, Drum Groups, Choirs, Folk, World Beat, Jazz, and some stuff that defies labeling.
A Little History:
Seattle Peace Concerts and a sensational range
of mostly Pacific NW musicians and sponsors have kept
free music going in the Seattle Parks for 29 years.
An attempt was made in the early 80s to ban Amplified Music from Seattle Parks because of the presumed negative impact some events had on the parks and community, i.e. "NO Rock n' Roll".
Fortunately, Reason prevailed! Sound levels and other conditions were established. The SeaPeace Volunteers have Peace Concert Parks looking better after the concerts than ever before!
For 29 years, (to the credit of some very kind Seattle folk), we have maintained amazing relations with our fantastic City of Seattle, and the entire Seattle community. We did good Seattle!! Now Seattlites R.I.P (Rock In Peace)
The Seattle Peace Concerts are family events. No alcohol!
Admission is FREE; however, we encourage folks to bring food bank donations for Northwest Harvest and ask you please contribute what you can when "The PEACE Bucket" comes around to help us cover expenses.
Another way to support these events, and take home some of the best music performed at the Seattle Peace Concerts,
is to purchase SPC Compilation Albums.
